Abstract
We propose a three dimensional finite difference time domain method for analyzing the optical pulse propagation in photonic
crystal fibers. The propagating pulse is virtually held in the middle of the problem space as simulation continues by adopting
the technique of moving problem space to limit the computation domain size. This method is capable to investigate the
pulse propagation in photonic crystal fibers as well as spatial phenomena such as transverse mode profile evolution.
