Abstract

In this work, the physical characteristics of TiO2 nanotubes grown under various anodizing parameters (composition of electrolyte, voltage, and anodizing duration) were investigated. The surface morphology and tube structure of the as-anodized TiO2 nanotubes were characterized by SEM and TEM. Results showed that optimal growth can be obtained at 40 V, 0.6 wt% of fluoride and duration of 30 minutes. Based on the current transient profile obtained from anodization of Ti foil, a possible mechanism of the growth of TiO2 nanotubes was proposed..
