Abstract

In thisstudy, the total refractive index (RI) changes of GaN / AlxGa1-xN Core-Shell quantum dots are calculated with a hydrogenic impurity. Our results show that the RI changes are considerably sensitive to the geometrical parameters of systems. The peak position of the total refractive index changes is greatly affected by changing of the geometrical size and presence of the hydrogenic impurity. The possibility of tuning the resonant energies by using the geometric core shell effect of the spatial confinement can be useful in the optoelectronic devices applications..
