Abstract
Zn1−xCoxO (x = 0.1, 0.2) nanorods were prepared by hydrothermal method. The morphology of the nanorods was studied by
field emission scanning electron microscopy. The results from x-ray diffraction and transmission microscopy indicated that
the as-prepared nanorods were single-crystalline wurtzite structure. No metallic Co or other secondary phases were found.
The vibrating sample magnetometer measurement demonstrate that Zn0.8Co0.2O nanorods exhibit room temperature
ferromagnetism (RTFM). The photoluminescence spectra implied that the nanorods exhibit strong orange emission.
