Abstract
In one of our previous research, we have analyzed a ceramic dielectric material with the following composition
Mg1+xTixAl2-2xO4 (MTA). It has been revealed that the last one represents a single phase spinel with the following dielectric
properties: εr = 6-12 tan δ = (1.5-3.5)x10-4, Qf =33000 – 85000 and τf = -50 to -70 ppm/deg. In the present work we have
introduced very small quantities of Ca2+ (y= 0.02 – 0.08) in our ceramic compounds in order to achieve thermal
compensation (τf → 0). As a result, the following dielectric material with general formula Mg1+x(CayTix+y)Al2-2x-2yO4 was
synthesized. For x=0.2 and y=0.05-0.06 the material achieves full thermal compensation as it has the following properties:
τf → 0, εr =12-13 and tan δ = (1-3)×10.
