Abstract

In this paper, we report, spike-like ZnO nanostructures synthesized by hydrothermal process. The spike-like ZnO nanostructures with distinguishing feature with tip, suggest possible interesting optical and electrical properties of this novel nanostructure. The spike-like ZnO nanostructures were hexagonal and single crystal in nature. It is found that the Electroluminescence ( EL ) emission intensity B depend on the applied voltage, B =B0 exp (-b/√V) and frequency 1/B =1/α + β/f. It is interesting for nanostructured based device that EL brightness increases linearly with applied voltage and frequency.
