Abstract

Er3+/Yb3+:Li3Ba2Gd3(WO4)8 crystal has been grown by the top seeded solution growth (TSSG) method using flux of Li2WO4. The polarized spectroscopic properties of Er 3+3+/Yb 3+3+:Li 3 Ba 2 Gd 3 (WO 4 8 crystal were investigated Based on the Judd Ofelt theory, the oscillator strength parameters, spontaneous emission probability, fluorescence branching ratio as well as radiative lifetime were estimated. The up conversion fluorescence spectrum and mechanism were also discussed The spectroscopic analysis reveals that Er3+/Yb3+:Li3Ba2Gd3(WO4)8 crystal may become a potential candidate for solid-state laser gain medium material..
