Abstract

We present a preliminary study concerning the luminescence properties of Eu3+-doped langasite (La3Ga5SiO14 - LGS), langatate (La3Ga5.5Ta0.5O14 - LGT) and langanite (La3Ga5.5Nb0.5O14 - LGN) crystals. The luminescence, reflectance and excitation spectra are used to compare the fluorescence efficiency and determine the most efficient excitation wavelengths.
