5D0 luminescence in europium-doped langanite

Abstract

The luminescence spectrum of Eu3+ in langanite was measured and analyzed. The radiative lifetime (τrad) of the 5D0 level and the Judd-Ofelt parameters (Ω2, Ω4, Ω6) for Eu3+-doped langanite crystal were obtained from the analysis of the luminescence spectrum. The following values were obtained: τrad = 1.11 ms, Ω2=7.16×10-20 cm2, Ω4=4.75×10-20 cm2, and Ω6≈1.66×10-20 cm2..
