Abstract
The preparation of copolymer particles by alternating copolymerization of divinylbenzene with maleic anhydride and the obtaining of silver hybrids and discoid liquid crystals (LC)-DVB-MA composites are reported. The dispersions containing the copolymer particles were characterized by DLS, pursuing the mixtures stability and the particles interactions. The ternary DVB-MA-MEMNPEO4 copolymers segregate the largest quantity of LLC and they have the highest degree of particles association after water dilution. The dried particles were observed by SEM. The comparative study of particle dimension, with and without Ag0, distinguishes the fact that the metal hybrids spread in smaller particles both with and without LLC.
