Abstract

The red-emitting phosphor Ca0.70Sr0.12MoO4:0.08Eu3+, 0.04Tb3+ has been prepared via hydrothermal method. The luminescent properties of the phosphor and energy transfer from Tb3+ to Eu3+ are investigated. The luminescence properties of Eu3+ ions in Ca0.70Sr0.12MoO4:0.08Eu3+, 0.04Tb3+ could be evidently improved by co-doping of Tb3+ ions, which was due to the efficient energy transfer process from Tb3+ to Eu3+ ions. The chromaticity coordinates of Ca0.70Sr0.12MoO4:0.08Eu3+, 0.04Tb3+ is closer to the standard red than that of Y2O3:Eu3+.
